Overview
A lovely family based in Double Bay, Sydney, is seeking an experienced, creative, and professional Private Family Chef to join their household on a live-out basis, five days per week.
The role will involve preparing fresh, delicious, healthy, and family-style meals for the principals and their two 6-year-old children. The family also has a baby; however, the nanny is responsible for the baby’s meals and food preparation. The chef may occasionally be asked to coordinate with the nanny regarding family meal timings and kitchen organisation.
The family enjoys Mediterranean and Italian-inspired cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients, balanced nutrition, simple but creative dishes, and meals that are appealing to both adults and children. This is not a fine-dining role; the family is looking for a chef who can create consistently excellent, comforting, nutritious, and beautifully presented everyday food.
The principals’ dietary preferences may vary from time to time, including calorie-controlled, weight-management, or other nutrition-focused plans. The chef must therefore be adaptable, knowledgeable, and comfortable tailoring meals, portion sizes, and menus to suit changing requirements.
The family occasionally entertains, with up to eight guests, so the successful candidate must also be confident preparing relaxed but high-quality meals for small dinner parties, lunches, or informal gatherings.
