Overview
A lovely young Asian couple based in Rose Bay, Sydney, is seeking an experienced, calm, and reassuring Night Maternity Nurse to support them with their 3-week-old baby.
The baby is healthy, formula-fed, and has no known allergies or medical concerns. The baby is doing very well and no longer requires regular overnight feeds, but is currently waking approximately four times during the night. The family is therefore looking for a candidate with excellent hands-on newborn experience, particularly someone who is highly confident with settling and resettling a baby calmly, consistently, and gently throughout the night.
The main focus of the role will be providing attentive overnight care, helping the baby return to sleep following night wakings, monitoring sleep patterns, and supporting the family in encouraging longer and more settled periods of sleep, always in line with the parents’ wishes and safe-sleep guidance.
This is initially a 3-month night maternity nurse contract. If the placement is successful and there is a strong connection with the family, there is the potential for the role to transition into a longer-term daily nanny position after the initial contract.
The ideal candidate will be warm, practical, discreet, and able to work independently overnight while offering the parents reassurance, consistency, and professional newborn support.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and professional overnight care for a 3-week-old, formula-fed baby.
Prepare formula feeds as required, following the parents’ instructions and appropriate hygiene standards.

Ensure the baby is comfortable, appropriately dressed, and safely settled throughout the night.
Follow all parental instructions, medical guidance, and safe-sleep practices at all times.

Carry out light nursery duties overnight, including keeping the nursery tidy, preparing and sterilising bottles, cleaning feeding equipment, and managing baby laundry where appropriate.
Offer calm, practical, and reassuring support to the parents throughout the placement.
